HEALTH GUARANTEE

**We are changing our health guarantee for 2011**

The main reason for this change is because in reality we can only guarantee that the
puppy we sell to you is in healthy condition when you purchase the puppy, and that
the parents of the puppy are healthy dogs without genetic health problems, and that
we believe the parents are also breed-worthy, which means that we believe they
have good conformation, good dispositions, and good natural hunting instincts. We
can guarantee that you will be getting a puppy in healthy condition, but we have no
way of predicting the future, nor controlling what you do with your dog, how you
raise it, what type of physical problems may arise from environmental stress on the
dog, what climate conditions it may be exposed to, what type of regional health
concerns/issues may be found in your area, what type of vet care you provide for
your dog, what dangers it may encounter while in your care, etc. --
these are all things we cannot control nor guarantee.

NOTE: Any puppies previously sold with our previous guarantee,
which was 15-months of age for German Shorthaired Pointer puppies,
12-months of age for Havanese puppies,
and 60 days from date of purchase for started hunting dogs,
are still covered under our previous guarantee.

Our new health guarantee policy
effective January 1, 2011, is as follows:

All of our puppies and started dogs will be 100% satisfaction and
health guaranteed for 60 days from date of purchase.

If you are not 100% satisfied with your puppy or started dog FOR ANY REASON, you can
return it to us for a full refund of the price within 60 days of purchase. Transportation is not
included as we want serious, committed buyers only. In order for us to honor this type of
guarantee, the dog must not have any signs of mental or physical abuse, or neglect, and must
have been vaccinated appropriately (a vaccination schedule will be provided for each dog so
you know what future vaccinations are due, and when).

We also offer a hip guarantee on our German Shorthaired Pointer puppies
up to 26 months of age.
In order for the hip guarantee on our German Shorthaired Pointer puppies to be valid, the
dog must have their hips OFA checked between 24-26 months of age (OFA will not certify
any hips until the dog is a minimum of 24 months of age). Our guarantee is based on official
certified results from the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (it cannot just be an x-ray with
some veterinarian's "opinion" -- it must be official OFA results). If your dog's hips do not
pass OFA certification with a fair, good, or excellent rating, we will take the dog back and
refund your purchase price of the dog (transportation not included). Or you may have the
option of keeping the dog and getting a replacement puppy, but that will be up to our
discretion. **The hip guarantee is only for our german shorthaired pointer puppies.** We
do not provide a hip guarantee on our Havanese puppies as they are not working dogs.

We feel this is a fair and realistic health guarantee.

**We reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone for any reason.**

SALES POLICY AND PAYMENT INFORMATION:

Puppy prices may vary, and will be posted on the website for each puppy being sold. We require a
$200 non-refundable down payment to reserve a puppy. We do not take down payments until the
puppies have arrived. Down payments are non-refundable so please be 100% committed to
getting a puppy before you reserve one with a down payment**

PUPPIES CAN BE PICKED UP AT 7 WEEKS OF AGE; MUST BE 8 WEEKS OF AGE IF
SHIPPING (federal regulation).

Our German Shorthaired Pointer puppies will have their tails docked, dew claws removed, a 6-week
vet check-up, a 6-week puppy shot, and will have been de-wormed appropriately.

Our Havanese puppies will have a 6-week vet check-up, a 6-week puppy shot, and will have been
de-wormed appropriately.

The akc registration papers, vaccination records, future vaccination requirements, and
satisfaction/health guarantee paperwork will be provided at time of pick up. If you are having your
puppy shipped, the paperwork will be sent to you via regular mail after you receive the puppy.

NOTE: We do not accept credit cards or paypal, so please do not fall prey to an internet money
scam by someone else claiming to be us. We only accept cash or checks made payable to Lila
Birkenholz at the address listed above. By doing this, we hope to protect our customers from
internet fraud. We recently had someone try to impersonate us on a puppy sale website, and they
were using my name and an alias e-mail address with my name in it.

Final payments and shipping costs are due 7 days prior to shipping, or paid in full at time of pick up.

If you haven't raised a puppy in a while, I would recommend reading a few puppy books to brush up
on your house training and puppy obedience skills. The first few months of raising a puppy are so
important in forming good behaviors and habits for your dog that will last a lifetime -- whatever you
put into your puppy, you will get back 10-fold -- your hard work and extra time put into your puppy
will pay off -- they will be so much happier, and SO WILL YOU!!

SHIPPING PRICES AND INFORMATION:

If shipping is requested, all shipping charges are the responsibility of the buyer. Shipping
charges are not refundable. We charge an additional $350 for shipping an 8-week-old puppy
into a major airport during normal cargo hours. This price includes the airline fee, crate, and
health transport certificate.
If you require a smaller airport that requires a higher fee, or arrival after normal cargo hours, the
airline charges more, and I can get an estimate for you. ALSO, SHIPPING PRICES GET
HIGHER AS THE PUPPY GETS OLDER AND BIGGER -- it is based on their weight and
kennel size. Started hunting dogs usually cost $500-$600 to ship. Call for an estimate on an
older puppy or started dog.
